I remember what somebody said about nostalgia, he said it's okay to look back, as long as you don't stare. -- Tom Paxton

      On looking back Michel de Montaigne writes ; ' Alas, Why did I not want to do as a young man what I want to do now? Or why, thinking as I do now, cannot my radiant cheeks return' ?

          Wm.Shakespeare has The Player King in Hamlet say this

          : 'Our wills and fates do so contrary run
          That our devices still are overthrown,
          Our thoughts are ours, their ends none of of our own.'

            On looking back.: Hugh Latimer said this to Nicholas Ridley as they were about to be burnt at the stake for heresy ;
            "Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out."

            Profound isn't it...but also a trifle ironic given the circumstance of their demise.Methinks Hugh had a sense of humour
