Conversations on love

Conversations on Love

Recently I was Blessed by one of the most beautiful conversations i have ever had, and I felt it needed to be continued. Here are my thoughts on it.

Love is truth, Love is God, Love is the most beautiful and most raw feeling we could ever have as humans. So here we are the essences of the vision our fathers and mothers had for us, cultivating the one Love. Living in Love, creating happiness as often as we can. We have learned to Love our friends, our community, our music, ourselves, we have made so many changes to be in the path of enlightenment. Still with all that evolution some how we have neglected our ability to Love in the construct of personal relations. Why do we loose the feeling of the one Love when we are in Love with one? What is it that changes our thought processes when it comes to "Lovers"? We are able to love those we call friends unconditionally with out expectations, we allow those people to be themselves, have there faults. And without even a blink of an eye we accept because we Love them. But when in the structure of relationship those same faults, demons, and down falls challenge us to the core. Is it not the same Love? Have we let archaic relationship structures cloud our ability to Love one with one Love? We are embarking on a time of great change and we know deep in our hearts that those that love can be the answer. So now I think we have a challenge to redefine these old traditions with in relation, as we have redefined so many other structures we have been conditioned with. I am not in full support of polysexual relations (if thats what you like go for it) I am personally in support of monogamy with ties to sex. But I am curios about the truth behind polyamory, the ability of the human mind to love in multiples. I truly believe we can change the way we love within relation, as well as how we define relation. I believe this to be one of the more perplexing and challenging philosophical issues i have wrapped my mind around, and i really would love you to sit on this topic, please write any thoughts down. We will be Blessed to hear your thoughts.

73 Wonderful Eleanor Roosevelt Quotes...

A little simplification would be the first step toward rational living, I think.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Actors are one family over the entire world.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Ambition is pitiless. Any merit that it cannot use it finds despicable.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Anyone who knows history, particularly the history of Europe, will, I think, recognize that the domination of education or of government by any one particular religious faith is never a happy arrangement for the people.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Anyone who thinks must think of the next war as they would of suicide.
Eleanor Roosevelt

As for accomplishments, I just did what I had to do as things came along.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Autobiographies are only useful as the lives you read about and analyze may suggest to you something that you may find useful in your own journey through life.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Campaign behavior for wives: Always be on time. Do as little talking as humanly possible. Lean back in the parade car so everybody can see the president.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility. For the person who is unwilling to grow up, the person who does not want to carry is own weight, this is a frightening prospect.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Friendship with ones self is all important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Friendship with oneself is all important because without it one cannot be friends with anybody else in the world.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Hate and force cannot be in just a part of the world without having an effect on the rest of it.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Have convictions. Be friendly. Stick to your beliefs as they stick to theirs. Work as hard as they do.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them until he gets a record of successful experience behind him.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I can not believe that war is the best solution. No one won the last war, and no one will win the next war.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I have spent many years of my life in opposition, and I rather like the role.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I think that somehow, we learn who we really are and then live with that decision.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I think, at a child's birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift should be curiosity.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I used to tell my husband that, if he could make me 'understand' something, it would be clear to all the other people in the country.
Eleanor Roosevelt

I'm so glad I never feel important, it does complicate life!
Eleanor Roosevelt

If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.
Eleanor Roosevelt

In all our contacts it is probably the sense of being really needed and wanted which gives us the greatest satisfaction and creates the most lasting bond.
Eleanor Roosevelt

In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It is not fair to ask of others what you are unwilling to do yourself.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It is not more vacation we need - it is more vocation.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it.
Eleanor Roosevelt

It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Justice cannot be for one side alone, but must be for both.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Life must be lived and curiosity kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.
Eleanor Roosevelt

My experience has been that work is almost the best way to pull oneself out of the depths.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Never allow a person to tell you no who doesn't have the power to say yes.
Eleanor Roosevelt

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Old age has deformities enough of its own. It should never add to them the deformity of vice.
Eleanor Roosevelt

One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes... and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Only a man's character is the real criterion of worth.
Eleanor Roosevelt

People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Perhaps nature is our best assurance of immortality.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Probably the happiest period in life most frequently is in middle age, when the eager passions of youth are cooled, and the infirmities of age not yet begun; as we see that the shadows, which are at morning and evening so large, almost entirely disappear at midday.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Sometimes I wonder if we shall ever grow up in our politics and say definite things which mean something, or whether we shall always go on using generalities to which everyone can subscribe, and which mean very little.
Eleanor Roosevelt

The battle for the individual rights of women is one of long standing and none of us should countenance anything which undermines it.
Eleanor Roosevelt

The Bible illustrated by Dore occupied many of my hours - and I think probably gave me many nightmares.
Eleanor Roosevelt

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt

The giving of love is an education in itself.
Eleanor Roosevelt

The only advantage of not being too good a housekeeper is that your guests are so pleased to feel how very much better they are.
Eleanor Roosevelt

The only things one can admire at length are those one admires without knowing why.
Eleanor Roosevelt

There are practical little things in housekeeping which no man really understands.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Too often the great decisions are originated and given form in bodies made up wholly of men, or so completely dominated by them that whatever of special value women have to offer is shunted aside without expression.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Understanding is a two-way street.
Eleanor Roosevelt

We are afraid to care too much, for fear that the other person does not care at all.
Eleanor Roosevelt

We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot.
Eleanor Roosevelt

What is to give light must endure the burning.
Eleanor Roosevelt

What one has to do usually can be done.
Eleanor Roosevelt

What you don't do can be a destructive force.
Eleanor Roosevelt

When life is too easy for us, we must beware or we may not be ready to meet the blows which sooner or later come to everyone, rich or poor.
Eleanor Roosevelt

When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?
Eleanor Roosevelt

When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die.
Eleanor Roosevelt

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Women are like teabags. We don't know our true strength until we are in hot water!
Eleanor Roosevelt

You can never really live anyone else's life, not even your child's. The influence you exert is through your own life, and what you've become yourself.
Eleanor Roosevelt

You can't move so fast that you try to change the mores faster than people can accept it. That doesn't mean you do nothing, but it means that you do the things that need to be done according to priority.
Eleanor Roosevelt

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.'
Eleanor Roosevelt

You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with courage and with the best that you have to give.
Eleanor Roosevelt

You must do the things you think you cannot do.

MORE THAN A RESOLUTION

More Than A Resolution

Must we resolve what we are already doing? To resolve means we haven't reached our intention, or, that we are creating a new intention; it means we are striving to meet and reach an ideal.

The ideal we hold is why we resolve to change our actions, thoughts, and hence current situation; this is accomplished through an accumulated force of will meant to propel us in a new direction. Today propel onto a new path and internalize the resolution; doing so means it fuses with your every waking and sleeping moment.

Resolve only until it becomes a part of your nature then drop the resolution.

More than a resolution,
the intention must be to change the very nature of our being, therefore, making us congruent with whom we strive to be.

Be.

Resolve to accept yourself for who you are. Remember: no one is ever perfect. Accept the dynamism of change. Experience a growth which cannot be calculated. Situations do not remain the same and as the environment around us shifts, we must open to transform the resolutions once needed… for even they shall one day become obsolete or counter-productive.

Resolve to not be disappointed, overly critical or difficult upon what you do and have done.
If we fix upon a goal and don't reach it we lead ourselves to disappointment.

Dynamic resolutions assist in preventing this occurrence.
Static resolutions do not.

Accept all the good and the bad... accept that which you cherish and that which you despise. Move into a space of acceptance; release from self-judgment. Guilt is not healthy, instead embrace change and create alternatives. Move past the limiting idea of failure. Move into a constant state of embracing every moment... and then become open... to all experiences... open to all that arises and passes.

Look at yourself. Discover your fears. Understand your faults. Reach for the zenith and don't be afraid to fall. Fall down. Stand back up. Embrace falling, it is necessary to learn walking.

Challenge even your resolutions, hence reaching awareness of self.

Avoid causing the self pain by sticking to a resolution that may no longer be relevant. As the conscious intention penetrates into your being, resolve to not blindly cling to resolutions without understanding their meaning; instead, embrace your true nature through awareness of who you are... the change sought is dependent on self-realization.

The change is dependent upon acceptance,
internalizing it so that it becomes more than just a resolution.

If I think more about death than some other people, it is probably because I love life more than they do. -- Unknown

I believe it was Mark Twain who said, "Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it." Have you ever been truly forgiven? How do you know. What does forgiveness mean to you? I'm working on a piece about forgiveness and would greatly appreciate your thoughts and experiences on the subject. Thanks a lot.

Here one of many...

“Spiritually evolved people, by virtue of their discipline, mastery and love, are people of extraordinary competence, and in their competence they are called on to serve the world, and in their love they answer the call. They are inevitably, therefore, people of great power, although the world may generally behold them as quite ordinary people, since more often than not they will exercise their power in quiet or even hidden ways. Nonetheless, exercise power they do, and in this exercise they suffer greatly, even dreadfully. For to exercise power is to make decisions, and the process of making decisions with total awareness is often infinitely more painful than making decisions with limited or blunted awareness (which is the way most decisions are made and why they are ultimately proved wrong).”
P. 75, from Scott Peck, Roads Less Traveled.

Writing on Capability Brown, a recent historian and author, Richard Bisgrove, described Brown's process as perfecting ;

"judicious manipulation of its components, adding a tree here or a concealed head of water there. His art attended to the formal potential of ground, water, trees and so gave to English landscape its ideal forms. The difficulty was that less capable imitators and less sophisticated spectators did not see nature perfected... they saw simply what they took to be nature. "

On this very Green day, I was reminded of an old Irish Pearl of Wisdom applicable to all sorts of predicaments, situations and tangles... "Ah, It's all the One." (Usually accompanied by a shrug and a world-weary sigh when faced with too many choices and unknown outcomes)
Of course, maybe it has deeper meaning - it sounds quite Zen just at the moment... maybe they twigged that, after all, it is all one...

15 THINGS THAT IT TOOK ME OVER 50 YEARS TO LEARN:
by Dave Barry,
Nationally Syndicated Columnist

1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

2. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings ".

3. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

4. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

5. You should not confuse your career with your life.

6. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

7. Never lick a steak knife.

8. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

9. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

10. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

11. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

12. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

13. A person, who is nice to you, but rude to a waiter, is not a nice person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

14. Your friends love you anyway.

15. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

The True Peace

The first peace, which is the most important,
is that which comes within the souls of people
when they realize their relationship,
their oneness, with the universe and all its powers,
and when they realize that at the center
of the universe dwells Wakan-Taka (the Great Spirit),
and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this.
The second peace is that which is made between two individuals,
and the third is that which is made between two nations.
But above all you should understand that there can never
be peace between nations until there is known that true peace,
which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.

"A system which does not hold basic living necessities hostage pending proof of your usefulness to society, but rather supplies a workstation to all and lets each individual seek excellence (or not), will come out ahead in the innovation and creativity department. There are lots of ways to meter a product's usefulness to others, and even to reward its authors accordingly, but without forcing us
into earning a living behaviors."

- Kirby Urner,
in the R. Buckminster Fuller FAQ

"Education...now seems to me perhaps the most authoritarian and dangerous of all the social inventions of mankind. It is the deepest foundation of the modern slave state, in which most people feel themselves to be nothing but producers, consumers, spectators, and 'fans,' driven more and more, in all parts of their lives, by greed, envy, and fear. My concern is not to improve 'education' but to do away with it, to end the ugly and antihuman business of people-shaping and to allow and help people to shape themselves."

- John Holt

"...jobs are to work as leaves are to a tree. If the tree is ailing the leaves will fall. Fiddling with leaves is not going to cure an ailing tree; just as one cures an ailing tree by treating its roots, so we cure the crisis in work by treating the root meaning and purpose of work."
Well, you know...we all want to change the world.

...You tell me it's the institution....

"I redefined success as having less to do with pushing through feelings and values to achieve a goal and more to do with nurturing the growth of my character and spirit, trusting that my greatest acheivements will come as by-products of the process."
"True independence means being free from the domination of your own internal automatic behaviors, not doing what you feel like when the urge strikes."

- Nicholas Lore

"Education teaches us that we must adapt ourselves to society as it is, that we must keep pace with the dictates of "progress," that life is a race, and that we need education to get ahead of the next guy or else we'll be left behind."

- Aaron Falbel,
Growing Without Schooling
magazine, Sept./Oct. 1999

"When we reject the mindset that life is a race, we loosen the stranglehold which education has over us. Thus freed, we might begin to learn things for more authentic and natural reasons. We may then begin to fully enjoy the delight of discovery, of intellectual stimulation, of the deep and ever-changing diversity and endless wonder our world."

- Bradford Angier

"…a great number of jobs, some of them quite well paid, add little to the well-being of society or to the well-being of the person in question. Why do these jobs exist? Partly because it is deemed unhealthy and dangerous (both for the individual and for society) to be out of wagework. Not because they give anyone a more fulfilling life or are necessary for society. Where does this lead us? Beyond the work ethic: the idea that human self-realisation is inherently connected to work. Work, leisure, useful versus useless work: all these dimensions must be considered by a future-directed political movement. Poetry is necessary because it makes the world more beautiful, while a lot of bureaucratic work, for example, is only alienating and expensive."

Thomas Hylland Eriksen

"The primary institutions of our society are oriented predominantly toward controlling rather than learning, rewarding individuals for performing for others rather than for cultivating their natural curiosity and impulse to learn."

- Peter M. Senge, Sloan Management Review,
Fall 1990

"It is useless to bargain any more over a few hours or days of time off, an extra year or two of retirement, while philosophizing airily about leisure...the question of the abolition of work is what is really on the table. Throughout the world, bosses have to be replaced by the free self-organization of all workers. The workers of the world must unite against the dehumanizing system of work--against the whole social process that kills the freedom and natural creativity of individuals."

- Joseph Jablonski

"The dominant work ethic in the United States is founded on the presumption that people will not work unless forced to do so by sheer life-and-death necessity. Does this imply a belief in the value of work or, beneath the surface of this loudly asserted attitude, possibly just the opposite?"

- Lynn Chancer

When you are in doubt, be still, and wait;
when doubt no longer exists for you, then go forward with courage.
So long as mists envelop you, be still;
be still until the sunlight pours through and dispels the mists

Yes I'm guilty of many obsessions, my art, my garde and home the PC sometimes. I'm talking about abnormal obsessions with delusions that your in love with some one when they don't see you like that. Like the Lady of Shallot by Tennyson. I have been pursued on line when all I did was be friendly. Frequent persistent offers to chat alone. I did it once ok well what ever. Aol burnout here! I exlain my like of tribe and this person thinks I'm angry cuz I don't want to do silly chat at 4 am when I'm going through 300 emails cuz I have'nt been online. I like the loose come and go freedom of Tribe so shit stop obsessing on me I say. PICK SOMEONE ELSE TO OBSESS ON .

Seems appropriate as I'm sitting here still frozen up after a particularly unpleasant session!

Some tortures are physical
And some are mental,
But the one that is both
Is dental.

Saturday in the park
You'd think it was the Fourth of July
People talking, really smilin
A man playing guitar
Singing for us all
Will you help him change the world
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I've been waiting such a long time
For today

Slow motion riders fly the colours of the day
A bronze man still can tell stories his own way
Listen children all is not lost
All is not lost..............................................Chicago

Country Wisdom....................................................

Never name a pig you plan to eat.

Country fences oughta' be horse high, pig tight, and bull strong.

Life ain't about how fast you run, or how high you climb. It's about how good you bounce.

Keep skunks and gossipers at a distance.

Life is simpler when you plow around the stumps.

A bumble bee is faster than a John Deere tractor.

Trouble with a milk cow is...she won't stay milked.

Don't skinny dip with snapping turtles.

Words that soak into your ears are whispered...not yelled.

Meanness don't happen overnight.

To know how country folks are doing, look at their barns, not their houses.

Never lay an angry hand on a kid or an animal. It just ain't helpful.

Teachers, Moms, and hoot owls sleep with one eye open.

Forgive your enemies. It messes with their heads.

Don't sell your mule to buy a plough.

Two can live as cheap as one...if one don't eat.

Don't corner something meaner than you.

You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar...if you're in to catchin' flies.

It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.

Don't go drinkin' with a fellow named Chug-A-Lug.

You can't unsay a cruel remark.

Every path has some puddles.

Don't wrestle with pigs. You'll get all muddy, and the pigs'll love it.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

Most of the stuff people worry about never happens.

The early bird gets the worm. But...the second mouse gets the cheese.
